Sea Bug Dinghy
The Sea Bug Dinghy is not a new design in the Shoestring Shipyard fleet. It is essentially a Bootstrap Dinghy with very slight changes in a few of the dimensions and without a sail plan. The length remains at 7'6" and the beam is also the same at 4'2".
Several customers told me they liked the lines of the Bootstrap Dinghy but had no ambition to sail it and did not feel it was fair to pay more money for drawings of the sail rig when they would not be using it.
The Bootstrap Dinghy was redrawn in CAD without any sail rig and the Sea Bug Dinghy is the result. With fewer drawings, the price of the plans for the Sea Bug Dinghy is less than the Bootstrap Dinghy.
The arrangement of the thwarts (seats) has been changed for the Sea Bug Dinghy since it does not feature a dagger board trunk.
