Built Frugal Skiffs

I took a Backyard Boatbuilding course with Bob Leary over at Falmouth High Night
School last winter and built the Frugal Skiff 14' pictured in the attached
photos. If you look close you will see a few extra features, otherwise its your
design. The lines are a real eye catcher. People stop and ask about it every
time we launch. I set it up for power and we had a real blast out on Vineyard
Sound and the coastal ponds last summer. With a 9.8 two stroke it really goes!

Paul, I want to thank you for the great time
that was had in building the 10 ft. Frugal Skiff. As I am sure you have
heard from other first time builders, this deserves a well done & an
ATTA BOY! The boat was built for my boss with the help of his young
kids as a complete surprise to him. It was launched on Georgica pond East
Hampton NY on Labor Day weekend with all the fanfare you had suggested. My
problem now is in how share time in the boat, maybe another project is in
order. If you have any ideas it would be helpful. Once again thank you for
a great learning experience. Your new fan,

"This past March I purchased the plans from you for the "Frugal
Skiff". I
used regular AC exterior plywood and it worked out very well. I started it
in April and finished it in time for my wife and I to celebrate it's
maiden voyage on July 4th. Believe me, it had to be an extra special event
for my wife to go out on the water! I really enjoyed the experience and
sense of accomplishment. I took it out 4-5 times and not one leak." -

"This was my first boatbuilding
experience and I am very pleased with how the boat turned out. Based on
your advice, I added oak transom knees, quarter knees, and a breast hook
so that I could use a small outboard. I am already thinking about my next
project and trying to figure out how large a boat I could build in my
garage. Thanks again for answering my questions so quickly and thoroughly."
